| Break-even basket | ₹464 | ₹169 |
What the numbers mean.
Cost per delivered order is the rider and fuel cost of a trip shared by the orders on it, plus the packing for one order. Two orders on a trip halve the trip cost for each.
Profit per order after delivery is your gross margin on the basket, plus any delivery fee the customer pays, minus the delivery cost. Orders at or above your free-delivery value pay no fee.
Break-even basket value is the smallest basket where margin and fee cover the delivery cost. Below it, the order loses money.
On-demand and slot delivery. On-demand sends a rider for every order. Slot delivery groups the orders for one slot and area onto one trip. The same rider and fuel cost is shared by more orders, so the cost per order falls.
Measure your own numbers from two weeks of orders.
Basket and margin
Divide two weeks of order value by the number of orders. Take your gross margin from your billing or purchase records.
Rider and fuel
Time a few real trips from leaving to returning. Use your rider pay and the fuel or vehicle cost you actually spend per trip.
Orders per trip
Divide delivered orders by trips made. If every order goes out alone, the answer is 1.
Questions, answered.

It is the smallest basket where your gross margin plus any delivery fee covers the cost of delivering it. Orders below it lose money after delivery.
A trip costs about the same whether it carries one order or four. With more orders on a trip, each order carries a smaller share of the rider and fuel cost.
